Oral Care Prov LTD
Practical oral care for people who find it difficult to manage on their own, and training for the people who look after them.
Services
Most oral health problems start quietly. A denture that stopped fitting properly. A toothbrush that has become awkward to hold. A mouth that gets missed on a busy morning, and then missed again. Left alone, these turn into soreness, difficulty eating and sleeping, and dental appointments that are far harder than they needed to be.
I work with the people who are most likely to be affected: older adults, people living with dementia, people with physical or learning disabilities, and anyone recovering from illness or surgery who is finding mouth care hard work. I visit care homes, supported living services and private homes.
The work itself is straightforward and hands-on:
- Daily mouth, tooth and gum care for people who need help with it
- Denture cleaning, labelling and day-to-day denture care
- Written oral care routines that suit the person and can be kept going by the people around them
- Practical training for care staff and for family carers
- Advice on brushes, pastes and adapted aids that make the job easier
- Follow-up visits, so a routine that is working does not quietly lapse
I do not diagnose or treat — that is a dentist's job. Where something needs looking at, I will say so plainly and help make sure it gets seen. What I provide is everything on either side of that appointment: the ordinary, consistent care that keeps a mouth comfortable and healthy in between.
Every situation is a little different, so I would rather talk through yours than quote a standard package. Tell me what is proving difficult and I will tell you honestly whether I can help.
Contact
Email is the easiest way to reach me. A short note about who the care is for and what is causing difficulty is enough to start with, and I will reply with what I can offer and what it would involve.
Enquiries from care homes, families and other professionals are all welcome.
